6.0 Battery Voltage At Idle
6.0 Battery Voltage At Idle. At idle:13.7 volts @ 60 amps 2000 rpm: It either won't start or it will surge really bad until the engine gets up to operating temperature.
Turn the ignition on , and measure the resistance between terminal 1 and ground. If you actually put a dvom on the battery while you crank/start/idle, you can probably see voltages even lower than 11.2v. At idle, most charging systems will produce 13.8 to 14.3 volts with no lights or accessories on (although some may charge at a slightly higher voltage depending on temperature, engine rpm, type of battery, and the battery's state of charge).
Battery Current Sensor The Battery Current Sensor Is A Serviceable Component That Is Connected To Either The Negative Or Positive Battery Cable At The Battery.
Let me know what you get. Black stripe in terminal f should have battery voltage at all times red wire with black stripe in terminal b should have battery voltage at all times see if the voltage drops out when the vehicle is acting up and let me know and we can continue. If there is a dead or weak cell, normal charging voltage can’t be achieved on a battery with a bad cell.
Ok, So As The Title Says, I Have A 2005 6.0 With 182,000 Miles.
Other things to check are location services settings, wifi scanning, notifications. In an ideal situation, the voltage will read somewhere close to 14.4 volts but it will stay at this number and won’t continually fluctuate. If you have driven the vehicle for a while, and the battery voltage with the engine running is above 14.0 volts, shut down the engine and turn on the lights for 5 minutes, start the engine monitoring the voltage, it is warm and the voltage.
My 6.0 Is Having Problems Staying Running Because Of Low Voltage.
Engine is started and at idle step 2 activate charge protection. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance at terminal 3. Resistance should be 0 ohms.

It Seems Pretty Normal To Me As Well.
Backslap is correct about the wrench, i would not. All of them should have battery voltage. The batteries are barely charging at 11.88v.
